CM Yogi Will Ask NTA to Declare NEET AIR 2 Akanksha as Joint Topper
Felicitating the NEET topper Akanksha Singh, Uttar Pradesh CM said he will request the National Testing Agency to declare the Kushinagar girl as a joint topper. CM Yogi also gifted her a tablet and promised to bear all her educational expenses. Odisha’s Soyeb Aftab who scored full marks was declared the NEET topper and though Akanksha managed to score full marks, she was ranked second as she was younger than Soyeb.

NEET Aspirant Ends Her Life After Discrepancies In Result
An 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district allegedly committed suicide after her result mistakenly showed poor marks. NTA Makes An Error In NEET Results; ST Category Topper Declared Fail
A 17-year-old boy from Rajasthan who had earlier secured 329 marks in NEET, after a re-verification, received 650 marks, making him the topper in Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. NEET 2020: J&K Shopkeeper's Twins Fly High With Big Triumph
In the recently declared NEET results, twin sons of a shop-owner in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir have cleared the examination with good score. Residents of Batpora village, Gowhar Bashir and Shakir Bashir scored 657 and 651 marks respectively in the 720-mark medical-entrance test. Bashir Ahmad, father of the twins, said though he earned less from his shop, he supported his children by doing extra jobs along with his wife.

Gender Breakup Shows a Steeper Drop In Girls Attendance in NEET 2020: NTA
NEET witnessed a reduction of 8.01% in the attendance of girls for the first time in the past 4 years, National Testing Agency said. However, the fall in boys’ attendance is comparatively low at 6.38%. The overall attendance also declined to 85.57% from 92.58% last year. A senior NTA official opined that the low attendance could be because the exams this year were held after the Board results, eliminating the students with low percentage.

NEET Results 2020: Odisha Boy, Delhi Girl Secure 100% Marks
The results for NEET 2020 were announced on October 16, wherein Soyeb Aftab (18) from Odisha bagged the All India Rank 1 by scoring 720 out of 720. Delhi's Akanksha Singh, who also managed to score 100% marks, was ranked second as she is younger than Soyeb. Reportedly, Soyeb had attempted all the questions and was expecting a rank under 100. Soyeb aims to become a cardiologist in the future.

SC Allows NTA To Conduct NEET UG For COVID-Affected; Results on October 16
The Supreme Court on October 12 permitted the National Testing Agency to conduct the second phase of NEET UG on October 14. The exam will be conducted for those who were unable to take up NEET UG due to COVID-19 infection or restrictions, which held on September 13. Reportedly, the exam had recorded 85%-90% attendance out of 15 lakh students, and the results are to be announced on October 16.
