Central Govt: Open Ration Shops Throughout The Month For Longer Durations

The Central government has urged the states on May 16 to ensure the ration shops are open throughout the month and for longer durations due to the pandemic. The Centre is also distributing food grains under the National Food Security Act and Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Several guidelines issued by Union Food Ministry also asked the Fair Price Shops to distribute the ration adhering to COVID-19 protocols.

One Nation One Ration Card: Govt Launches App For NFSA Beneficiaries

Advancing the One Nation One Ration Card programme, the Centre launched the 'Mera Ration' app on March 12. The app endeavours easy countrywide mobility of ration cards for the National Food Security Act beneficiaries, especially those migrating for livelihood.
