Former Women's Volleyball Captain Nirmala Kaur Passes Away Due To COVID

Nirmal Kaur, the former captain of the Indian women's volleyball team died on June 10 after a three-week battle with coronavirus. The 85-year-old passed away at Fortis hospital in Mohali, on June 13. According to reports, Kaur's oxygen level had dropped after which she was shifted to HFNC (high flow nasal cannula) and NIV (non-invasive ventilator) intermittently. Later in the evening, her family issued a statement about her demise.

Milkha Singh Hospitalized After Low Oxygen Levels; Condition Stable

India's 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh was admitted to Chandigarh's PGIMER hospital on June 3 due to "dipping levels of oxygen". Doctors have stated he is under observation with a stable condition. Singh had contracted the coronavirus recently and was hospitalised for some days before being discharged on May 30 and remaining on oxygen support at home. Earlier, Singh and his wife Nirmal Kaur were treated for COVID pneumonia.
