At least 30 people were reported missing in flash floods triggered by a glacial lake outburst in north Sikkim late on October 3, night. The sudden cloudburst created havoc amongst people, in Sikkim, and the situation is likely to worsen in the region. "The exact number of people who have gone missing is still not confirmed. We are gathering details," said concerned officials. Meanwhile, a search operation is underway.

Furthermore, if sources to beleive, 23 Indian Army personnel have been reported missing and some vehicles are reported submerged under the slush. Search operations are underway.
