Omicron's Sub-Variant BA.2 More Contagious, Likely to Spread Gradually In India
BA.2, one of the sub-variants of the Omicron, is spreading rapidly in India, warned The Union Health Ministry. The Director of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) stated that the BA.2 could possibly be more infectious than the more commonly found BA.1 variant. As of now, BA.2 variant is being studied. Notably, BA.2 cases have been registered in Denmark, Britain, Sweden, and Norway.
