Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin traveled to Thiruvananthapuram, to hold a meet with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on September 2. Reportedly, various projects related to Tamil Nadu and Kerala were discussed. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu’s IT minister Mano Thangaraj appreciated Kerala’s IT development, and said that a high-level team will be sent to Kerala to study the developments.

Kerala Assembly Sessions Begin; Bills To Replace ‘Ordinance Raj’ On Agenda
Kerala assembly sessions are scheduled to being on August 22, and the sessions will be carried out for 10 days. Also, bills to replace 11 ordinances which are lapsed, will be discussed as per the agenda of the state government. Notably, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan had earlier refused to give assent to 11 ordinances that lapsed without studying them in detail.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Writes To PM Modi, Seeks Intervention Against Increased Airfares
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan strongly condemned the increased airfares in both the domestic and international sectors. He demanded PM Modi's personal intervention into the matter, stating that the exorbitant airfares post COVID need to be reduced. CM Vijayan stated that the increased ticket fares will affect the non-residents and tourism sector in Kerala. Reportedly, the air fare from Cochin to Delhi jumped from Rs 3,000 to Rs 14,000.

19 SFI Activists Arrested In Connection To Rahul Gandhi's Wayanad Office Vandalization: Kerala
After Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Wayanad office was Vandalised by activists from Students' Federation of India (SFI), police have arrested 19 persons in connection to the case. The opposition, Congress-led UDI, alleged that the attack was carried out with the knowledge of CM Pinarayi Vijayan. However, following the incident, Gandhi sent a letter to CM Vijayan, requesting him for immediate intervention in the matter.

Kerala Gold Smuggling Case: ED Interrogates Swapna Suresh For Second Consecutive Day
In the 'Kerala Gold Smuggling case', prime accused Swapna Suresh appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED), at Kochi, for interrogation. The second consecutive day interrogation on June 23 reportedly lasted for six hours. Swapna Suresh is being interrogated with respect to her 164 statement at court and for her allegations against CM Pinarayi Vijayan and family. The case came to light in 2019, after 30 kg gold was busted.

CAA Not To Be Implemented In Kerala, Says CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that his government will not implement the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Speaking at a function marking one year anniversary of the LDF government, Vijayan said, "the state government has taken a firm stand that citizenship would not be determined based on religion". The CAA has been passed by the parliament but is yet to be implemented.
