Actor Vijay, His Father At Loggerheads Over Registration Of Political Party
Kollywood actor Vijay and his father, filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar, are at loggerheads after the latter registered a political party under the actor's name. The actor, in an official statement, clarified that he did not have any direct or in-direct contact with ‘All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam’, which was registered as a political party by his father. National Parties Received Rs 2,818 Crore From Corporates In 7 Years: Report
According to a report by Association for Democratic Reforms, national political parties have received a corporate donation of Rs 2818.05 crore in a span of seven years (from 2012-2019). The report revealed, 82% of the donations i.e. Rs 2319.48 was received by the BJP while Congress and NCP bagged Rs 376.02 crore and Rs 69.81 crore respectively. Alarmingly, 319 donations that estimated to Rs 31.42 crore were not documented properly.
