Govt To Consolidate Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award Into One National Award
The Home Ministry has recommended the consolidation of India's highest sporting honours, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna Awards, into a single national award. Olympian Vijender Joins Farmers' Protest, Warns To Return Khel Ratna
Olympian boxer Vijender Singh has voiced his support for the farmers protesting against the Farm laws. He said that if the government failed to repeal the 'black laws', he would return his Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. Vijender, who contested the 2019 Lok Sabha on a Congress ticket, is one among the sportspeople who have joined the protest. Recently, former sportspersons have decided to return their awards condemning the bills.
