Wipro Reports Declined Revenue In June Quarter, Profit At Rs 2,563 Crore
Wipro, an IT-major company reported a dip of revenue in its June quarter profit at Rs 2,563 crore, at 20.9%. As per sources, for the quarter revenue rose to 17.9% , Rs 21,528.6 crore. Its operating margin in IT services segment decreased by 200 bps QoQ to 15%. With this, the consolidated total revenue of the Bengaluru-based Wipro is 15.51%. Furthermore, in terms of dollars, revenue is $2.7 billion.

Oil Production Continues To Decline in India
A data released by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has revealed that India's oil production has declined by 3.2 percent in 2021. India's Oil production had previously declined by 3.37 percent in 2020. The decline seems to continue as India's largest oil and gas producer "ONGC" produced only 1.6 million tones of oil in 2021, which is 4.2 percent lower than last year.

SBI Report Indicates GDP Contraction by 16.5% in April-June Quarter
State Bank of India's research report Ecowrap on August 17 indicated that the country's economic growth is likely to contract by 16.5% in June quarter. The report stated around 1,000 listed companies have announced their results so far, which showed that revenues and profits have plunged more than 25% and 55% respectively. The report also opined that, albeit rural economy shows recovery, it may not support GDP as a whole.
