Amid the counter-infiltration operations in Jammu and Kashmir, Army Chief General M M Naravane reviewed the security preparedness in Rajouri and Poonch districts in the state on October 19. The Army chief arrived on a two-day visit in Jammu on the afternoon of October 18. Reportedly, nine security personnel have lost their lives so far during the combat against terrorists in the state. 

Addressing the security concerns, Zoom has announced that it will provide an end-to-end encryption feature for video-conferencing of upto 200 people. While mentioning that many jawans and officers have sacrificed lives to "maintain peace in the valley", J&K DGP Dilbag Singh said, "It's time to exert more pressure on the terrorists and their supporters." For security measures, he emphasized the need for more search operations to corner and capture terrorists who act "on the behest of Pakistan terror agents." He added that the police should take local people into confidence.
