State-Run Bus

In West Bengal's Siliguri region, Maya Chakraborty (50) died and her husband Bijay Chakraborty (61), received serious injuries when a state-run bus hit them. The incident happened on Asian Highway-2 near Noukaghat bridge in Kaoakhali in the New Jalpaiguri police station area on June 12.  The police registered a case of an accident and arrested the bus driver, who was said to have lost control while driving.
