Leopard Population In India Soars By Over 60%; Highest In MP

A recently released report ‘Status of Leopard in India' has shown a significant growth in the number of big cats. Released by Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, the report highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of leopards (3,421) in the country, followed by Karnataka (1,783) and Maharashtra (1,690).
