26/11 Terror Attack: Mumbai Crime Branch Files New Charge Sheet With 5th Accused

The 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack is still fresh in people's minds, and an investigation into the deadliest terrorist attack, which killed hundreds of people, is underway. On September 26, the Mumbai Crime Branch filed a new chargesheet into the terror attack. The charge sheet filed under UAPA and IPC named Tahawwur Rana as fifth accused.  Rana, a Pakistani citizen with Canadian citizenship, is currently in jail in California.

Pakistan's Tahawwar Rana To Remain Under US Federal Custody

Tahawwar Rana, a Canadian businessman of Pakistan origin, will remain under custody in United States. However, the court has asked the defence counsel to file an additional document by July 15, until he will remain under Federal custody. Reportedly, Rana was involved in the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai, assisting the group 'Lashkar-e-Taiba'. Earlier in 2018, a warrant for his arrest was issued by India.… read-more

US Govt Urges Fed Court To Certify India's Request For Tahawwur's Extradition

Joe Biden-led US government has requested the Federal Court to approve India’s request for extradition of 2008 Mumbai attack accused and fugitive Tahawwur Rana. Validating the request, the Assistant US Attorney has claimed that Rana meets all requirement of extradition. Reportedly, the court has scheduled Rana’s extradition hearing for April 22.
