No Salary Hike For Microsoft Employees This Year
Weeks after Microsoft layoffs caused resentment; the Satya Nadella-led tech giant is reportedly not planning to give any salary hike(s) this year. As per a report, Microsoft Corp is reducing its budget for bonuses and stock awards this year. The announcement came as a major drawback for employees, hoping for a hike in salary. CEO Sundar Pichai Hints Another Lay Off At Google
Google CEO Sundar Pichai hints another mass lay offs at the company. In an interview, Pichai said, the focus is on moving people to its most important areas and he did not rule out the possibility of another mass layoff. Pichai said, the company is looking into all aspects to re-engineer the cost base in response. Furthermore, as of now, the company has laid off 6% of work force.

Google Shuts Down 'Translate Service' In Mainland China, Releases Statement
Citing low usage, US Tech Giant Google announced to shut down its translation services in Mainland China. On October 3, the company released a statement, "We are discontinuing Google Translate in Mainland China, one of the tech giant's few remaining products still available in the country". This is the second time Google ended any service. Back in 2010, Google ended Search Engine services, after it stopped self-censoring.

Google Eyes To Uplift Women Through Its $25 Million Grant
Google announced a financial aid worth $ 25 million for those organisations that are uplifting women on the occasion of Women's day on March 8. Launched under its charitable arm Google.org, the grant will provide incentives between $300,000 and $2 million. Besides, the company will provide non-monetary support. Currently, through its flagship Internet Saathi Program, Google will help 1 million women in rural India.
