President Ramnath Kovind On Tour To Turkmenistan & Netherlands
President Ram Nath Kovind received the Guard of Honour on his arrival in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on April 2. "The state visit of the president will reaffirm the importance we attach to Turkmenistan, not only bilaterally but also in extended neighborhood concept and role in India-Central Asia partnership," stated an official. Notably, President is on a state visit to Turkmenistan and Netherlands from April 1 to April 7.

Earthquake Of Magnitude 5.1 Reported In Iran Near Turkmenistan
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was reported in northeastern Iran close to the border with Turkmenistan on September 13. The jots of the earthquake were also felt in Iran's Quchan city. However, any human casualties and damage to properties have not been reported so far anywhere. The epicenter was recorded at the depth of 10 kilometers from the surface.

Turkmenistan President Honors His Favorite Dog Breed With A Golden Statue
A six-metre tall golden statue of a Alabai dog was unveiled in Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat. The dogs of Alabai breed are favourite of the country's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who himself unveiled the statue. The canine is a part of the country's heritage while the statue reflects the dignity and assuredness of the shepherd dog.
