Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, slammed the makes of a talent show for kids, as they mentioned her as the judge. On December 19, she shared a screenshot of a tweet, which mentioned Pareenti as the judge. She said, "Absolute SHAM- I am not associated with this show in any way. Request you to kindly remove my name". However, the makers said, they are in touch with her manager.

UK Confirms First Death Due To Omicron: PM Boris Johnson
On December 13, the UK reported first death due to COVID-19's new variant, Omicron. The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed and said, "Omicron is producing hospitalisations and sadly atleast one patient has been confirmed to have died due to Omicron". Calling it dangerous, the UK PM urged people to take their booster shots as London has at least 40% Omicron cases.

Steve Verze (47), an engineer from east London's Hackney, became the world's first person to get a 3D printed eye, said Moorfields Eye Hospital in London on November 25. The eye looks realistic than other alternatives as the eye is developed after digitally scanning the eye socket. Reportedly, It also reduces the development time to around 2-3 hours from 6 weeks. UK Suspends Flights From 6 African Countries; New Covid Variant
Owing to the emergence of a new COVID variant with more than 30 mutations, the UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid on November 26 announced a temporary suspension of flights from six African countries. The UK has also decided to put the six countries on the red list. The new variant has been named B.1.1.529. ''The variant includes a large number of spike protein mutation,'' said UK Health Security Agency.

Britain Records 42,408 Fresh Covid-19 Cases; Death Rate Drops By 4.4%
Britain reported 42,408 fresh Covid-19 cases, and 195 deaths due to the virus, taking its total death tally to 142,533 on November 11. Furthermore, the death rate decreased by 4.4%, while the infection rate fell by 12% in the past one week. However, over 8,000 patients were reported to be admitted to the hospital, at present. Besides, 79% of people aged 12 and more have been fully vaccinated.
