Sri Lanka's Tourism Sector In Deep Waters Amid Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Sensex & Nifty Fall Below 1% As Russian Troops Close In On Ukraine's Kyiv
As Russian forces close in on Ukraine's capital city Kyiv, the benchmark for indices have decreased to one percent. The Nifty has swiftly moved high to low with 1.12%, with the Sensex gyrating 735 points. HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto and Hero Motocorp were among the companies to lose the Nifty between 1.15% to 3.65%, while Coal India and Tata Steel had their gains.

Medical Student Shot Dead In Ukraine: Indian Govt
Twenty-year-old Indian student was killed in Ukraine, on March 1. MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted, "With profound sorrow we confirm that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. The Ministry is in touch with his family. We convey our deepest condolences to the family". Student identified as Naveen Shekharappa, hailed from Karnataka and was a fourth year student at Kharkiv National Medical University.

PM Modi Asks Air Force To Join 'Operation Ganga' To Evacuate Indians In Ukraine
PM Narendra Modi asked the Indian Air Force (IAF) to join 'Operation Ganga' to evacuate Indian nationals in Ukraine, amid the ongoing invasion. Modi, on March 1, said, the IAF's aircraft would be more efficient evacuating more people in a short time. Furthermore, the IAF is to send C-17 aircrafts to rescue Indians, from March 1. Meanwhile, Air Indian flights are operating special flights to bring Indians back safely.
