India To Finalize $700 Million Defense Pact With United States
India is set to sign a defense pact with the United States to procure 100 fighter jet engines from US-based General Electric (GE) for a whopping $700 million. Negotiations to acquire fighter jet engines that will power Indian Tejas Light Combat Aircraft are almost absolute. Meanwhile, the agreement would be earmarked as the biggest India-US defense deal since February 2020 when India procured multi-role helicopters from the US.

Miami Building Collapse: Search & Rescue Efforts Turn Into Recovery Operation
According to Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the June 24 Miami building collapse tragedy, has been converted from search and rescue efforts to a recovery operation. With the retrieval of 8 more bodies, the death toll has amounted to 54 along with 86 "potentially unaccounted for" people. "Our team has developed a very detailed plan to guide the transition and a well-ordered operation," Mayor Cava added.

Indian PM Modi's Approval Rating Is Highest Among World Leaders

IMF Predicts Rebound In Indian Economy In 2021; Over 10% Dip In 2020
International Monetary Fund's 'World Economic Outlook' report has suggested that Indian economy is likely to have a positive growth of 8.8% in 2021 after a contraction of 10.3% in 2020. It indicated the similar trend for other countries as well with US economy expected to grow by 3.9% in 2021 after contracting 5.8% this year. However, the report suggested that only China showed a growth of 1.9% in 2020.
