Allahabad HC Grants Bail To Lakhimpur-Kheri Incident Accused Ashish Mishra
Lakhimpur violence incident's main accused, Ashish Teni has been granted bail by Allahabad High Court (HC) on February 10. Reviewing the bail plea, Justice Rajeev Singh reserved the orders and granted bail. Notably, Ashish Mishra Teni, the son of former UP Home Minister Ajay Mishra Teni was accused in the killing of eight people, including four farmers in Lakhimpur, Kheri in 2021. Moreover, an SIT also found Mishra guilty.

PM Modi Inaugurates Kashi Vishwanath Corridor In Varanasi
PM Narendra Modi, on December 13, inaugurated Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Uttar Pradesh's holy city Varanasi. Constructed worth Rs 339 crores, it will connect Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ganga Ghat, to ease travel for pilgrims. The PMO took to Twitter and shared pictures of the inauguration event. Besides, PM Modi is also scheduled to launch Kashi Vishwanath Dham, attend Ganga Aarti and attend a conclave on December 14.

UP Anti-terror Squad Nabs Two Chinese Nationals For Money Laundering
The UP Anti-Terror Squad has for the first time nabbed two Chinese nationals after the Interpol issued a red corner notice against them. Identified as Xu Xunfu and Li Teng Li, the accused bought SIM cards against fake documents and used them for making transactions of around Rs 5 crore. Moreover, visas of the duo-arrested had expired in July and September 2020 respectively. However, motive of the money laundering is yet to be ascertained.

UP Govt to Focus on Hygiene; Plans To Setup Sanitary Pad Vending Machines in Schools
Uttar Pradesh government is planning to install sanitary pad vending machines at 1,000 government girls' high schools and intermediate colleges. The initiative has been allotted Rs 3 Crore under 'Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan' scheme and is intended to curb the drop-out rate of girls. Earlier, a survey had reported that around 28 lakh adolescent girls in the state missed schools every month, owing to menstrual problems.
