Indian Govt To Roll Out E-Passports, Starts Testing Chips: V Muraleedharan
V Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs, informed Rajya Sabha that the Indian government will soon launch e-passports for the citizens of India. The e-passports will come an embedded Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip and an antenna as inlay in the back cover, said Muraleedharan. He further stated that the launch will be made during 2022-23. The testing process has reportedly been started using sample chips.

7,139 Indians Lodged In Overseas Jails; Most Inmates In Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of External Affairs on February 4 stated that nearly 7,139 Indians are imprisoned globally. Reportedly, Saudi Arabia topped the list with 1,599 Indian prisoners while the UAE (898) and Nepal (886) were next in the line. Besides, 548 and 536 Indians are jailed in Malaysia and Kuwait respectively. UAE: Indian Student Makes Six-Layered Stencil Portrait Of PM Modi
As a Republic Day gift to Prime Minister Modi, a Dubai-based Indian Student from Kerala has made a six-layered 90cm x 60cm stencil portrait. Ninth-grader Saran Sasi Kumar, in his portrait, displayed Prime Minister Modi saluting and wearing a wide-brimmed cap with the logo of the Central Industrial Security Force. The artist handed over the portrait to the Union Minister of State V Muralitharan during his visit to the UAE.
