US: Night Sky Blaze With Fireballs, Turns Out Space Debris
Stargazers were left in awe after the night sky over the US states of Washington and Oregon was lit by streams of fireballs on March 26. Initially assumed to be a meteor shower, Astronomer Jonathan McDowell from National Weather Service tweeted that it was space debris. Several other experts clarified that the debris was from SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch in early March, which was reentering Earth.

India Demoted To "Partly Free" Country By Think Tank 'Freedom House'
US-based Freedom House has ranked India at 88 in the list of countries with most freedom, and downgraded India's freedom score from "free" to "partly free". The think tank stated that the curtailment in civil liberties in India has been increasing since 2014. US Not In Mood To Extend Nuclear Treaty 'New START' With Russia
The future of nuclear arms treaty, New START, between the US and Russia seems blurry as the former has declined the latter's request to extend the treaty. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the treaty has successfully limited the arms and have controlled weapons, and it would be a "shame" if it came to an end. The New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) will expire in February 2021.

Father of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Bill Gates Sr, died on September 14 in Seattle. He was an attorney and his demise was caused by Alzheimer's disease. Also known as William Henry Gates II, he contributed significantly for the establishment of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. "My dad was the 'real' Bill Gates. He was everything I try to be and I will miss him every day," Bill Gates tweeted.

Major Fire Broke Out in USA Destroying Acres of Land; Killed 23
A humongous fire broke out in the western part of the US, followed by 102 major blazes which destroyed 4.4 million acres of land across 12 states in the country. According to USA on September 11, at least 23 people have been killed, with 19 deaths reported in California, three in Oregon and one in Washington. Several people are missing and many have been evacuated as well.
