Whatapp Unveils New Feature; Know More
Messaging giant Whatsapp has added a new feature that aids people to choose payment background while doing transactions. “With Payments Backgrounds, our effort is to bring excitement to everyday payments through WhatsApp and enable our users to express themselves if they wish,” said Mahesh Mahatme, Director of Whatsapp payment. The feature is similar to GooglePay where the user can avail backgrounds while doing money transactions.

SC Asks WhatsApp To Assure On Plea Seeking UPI Data Security
In response to a plea, the Supreme Court on February 1 asked WhatsApp to confirm that the latter would abide by the RBI and NCPI guidelines and not share UPI data with third parties. WhatsApp To Offer Health Insurance, Micro-Pension Products
WhatsApp India Head Abhijit Bose revealed at ‘Facebook Fuel for India' event that WhatApp will soon launch its health insurance and micro-pension services. WhatsApp Pay Gets Approval For UPI In Graded Manner
Facebook's WhatsApp Pay on November 5 received approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to go live on the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) system. However, NPCI has allowed Facebook to execute it only in a graded manner by adding a maximum of 20 million users in the first phase. WhatsApp Pay was already launched in India as a Beta version in 2018 with around one million users.
