World Bank Announces $530 Million Additional Aid To Ukraine Amid Russian Invasion
The World Bank has announced to provide an additional aid of $530 million to Ukraine amid the ongoing war against Russia. The World Bank also stated that United Kingdom’s contribution to the addition aid is $500 million, and Kingdom of Denmark’s contribution is $30 million. With this, the total aid provided by World Bank to Ukraine is $13 billion. Of which, $11 billion has been fully disbursed.

US- EU Collaborating In Pathogen Monitoring, Vaccine Research: Covid-19 Summit
In the Global Covid-19 Summit hosted by different health experts of all the nations on May 12, US President Joe Biden and European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen agreed to collaborate. Cryptocurrency Is Risk, Can Be Used For Illegal Purposes: Nirmala Sitharaman

World Bank Halts All Projects In Russia, Belarus: Russia-Ukraine Crisis
The World Bank on March 2, announced halting all of its ongoing projects in Russia and Belarus with immediate effects in response to the invasion of Ukraine. "There has also been no new leading approved to Belarus since mid-2020," informed the international financial institution. Meanwhile, on March 1, the World bank announced $3 billion in support to Ukraine along with IMF's emergency assistance to the country.

World Bank Donors Agree To Provide $280 Million To Afghanistan
The World Bank on December 10 said that the donors have approved to release of $280 million for war-torn country Afghanistan. "The Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF) donors agreed to provide funds to UNICEF and World Food Programme (WFP) by the end of December 2021," said the World Bank. UNICEF will release $100 million to provide health services in Afghanistan and $180 WFP to bolster food security.

'Indian Economy Is Recovering, But Not Enough': World Bank Chief
The World Bank President David Malpass welcomed the progress in the Indian Economy which was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. He further said that India was facing huge challenges, but now has made huge progress with the huge production of vaccines. However, Malpass also said, ''There is progress, but not enough.'' World Bank Discontinues 'Doing Business Report' Over China's Fraud
After the World Bank's decision to stop publishing the report of "Doing Business" ranking, media reports on September 17 expect India to become the preferred manufacturing base in the world replacing China. Reportedly, the World Bank found that China's ranking in 2017 was boosted as a result of pressure by some top officials. However, India is free of any irregularities in data.
