Fifth NFHS Survey Finds Drop In Infant Mortality Rate In 18 States
Showing an improvement, 18 Indian states have witnessed a decline in infant mortality rates stated the fifth National Family Health Survey (NFHS) report. However, 16 states have shown a steep rise in malnutrition amongst the children who are under five years of age. Additionally, a drop in sex ratio has been recorded in Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Andaman and Nicobar Island.
