Union Asks Panchayats To Curb Man-Wildlife Conflict Using PMFBY Funds

To ensure effective management of human-animal conflicts, the Centre directed the gram panchayats to play an active role. The committee on National Board of Wildlife has asked to utilize funds from the PM Fasal Bima Yojana to make provisions of fodder inside the forests. Moreover, the board has asked to provide compensation to victims along with installing early warning systems, toll-free hotline numbers for emergencies, and identification of conflict hotspots.
