Farm Bill: Congress' Chandrashekar Questions SC Appointed Panel
On the 50th day of farmers' protest, Karnataka Congress leader B.K.Chandrashekar has questioned the committee set by the Supreme Court to resolve the deadlock. In a press release, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson challenged the panel's nonpartisanship, since a few members have taken sides over the issue. He said, "How will other 'sensible' and reputed experts testify before a panel whose credibility in public perception has come under a cloud?" He mentioned that he was curious to know why former Chief Justice of India R.M. Lodha denied leading the panel. Additionally, Chandrashekar opined that the Supreme Court has two options - either to appoint those who have not given their views or to include two officials who are not in support of the contentious farm laws.
