Chamoli Flash Floods Triggered By Massive Rockslide: Reports
Flash floods that left Uttarakhand's Chamoli in turmoil might have been triggered by a massive rockslide below the Ronti peak, revealed reports. According to the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), the energy of the fall melted the ice creating a source for the flood. Moreover, the centre confirmed that the floods were not caused due to glacial lake outburst as no significant water bodies were found in the area.
