Only 686 Of 7,349 Railway Stations Under CCTV Surveillance: Goyal
Union Minister Piyush Goyal on March 24 stated that out of 7,349 railway stations, 686 have been equipped with CCTV cameras. Addressing the Lok Sabha, Goyal informed that the stations covered are below 10% of the total strength. While the highest number of CCTV-equipped railway stations was from Maharashtra (156), Uttar Pradesh (69) and West Bengal (67) were next ones. However, currently passengers' entry is not monitored by the CCTVs, he added.
