Serena Williams Retires Early From Wimbledon After Ankle Injury
Seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams withdraws from the game on June 29 due to an ankle injury. Williams left the court in tears after her dream of winning her eighth Grand Slam Singles and equalling Margaret Court's record ended. As she was leading with a 3-1 in the first set of her first-round with Aliaksandra Sassnovich, Williams slipped. She left early for medical attention calling it to quit after a 3-3.
