Indian Railways to Run 'Clone' Trains to Reduce Wait-listed Passengers
Indian Railways has planned to run 'clone' trains to ferry wait-listed passengers. The 'clone' trains will be an alternative to actual trains , and will function on the routes with heavier passenger load. The 'clone' train is similar to 'Vikalp Scheme'. The trains will have less stoppages than special trains. Railway Ministry Spokesperson DJ Narain told, "Duplicate trains will be primarily 3AC and run ahead of the already operating special trains".
