New Zealand: Voting Ends, Referendum To Legalize Marijuana Falls
After the final counting on November 6, New Zealand’s re-elected PM Jacinda Ardern has finalized to keep Marijuana consumption illegal in the country. However, the referendum was very close at 48% in favor and 52% against legalizing weed. About 17% overseas ballots, referred to as 'special votes', were cast after October 17, increasing PM Jacinda’s and Labour Party’s vote share as they finished with over 50% of total votes.
