Housing and Land Rights Network, a charitable organization, claimed that 6,000 people were evicted from their homes by the Delhi Development Authority between March 2020 and July 2021 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. At least 2,57,000 people in the country lost their homes during the eviction drive by various government agencies, a report claimed. Shivani Chaudhary, an HLRN member said the govt ''ruthlessly'' demolished the poor's houses during the pandemic.
