BMC Gets Foreign Consultants To Build Anti-Flood Underground Tanks

Mumbai's civic body BMC has received response proposals from South Korea, Japan and Netherland-based companies to help in building underground water tanks. Reportedly, the idea was mooted by the BMC to create underground ponds to store rain water and high tides. Once proposals are given green signal, the companies will undertake one-year study of the geography, rock and soil nature and stormwater of Mumbai. The companies would charge around Rs 31 crore for their service.
