Chennai Begins Second Half Of IPL-13 Journey With Defeating Hyderabad
MS Dhoni's yellow brigade started the second half of its IPL 2020 journey in a convincing manner with defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in October 13 match. Batting first after winning the toss, Chennai tweaked its opening pair that surely paid off well. Though Faf du Plessis went for a golden duck, Sam Curran fired a quick 31 runs off 21 balls. This gave momentum to Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu to play an anchor inning in the middle overs. Their 81-run partnership provided platform to Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni to hit high for the CSK's scoreboard, which settled at 167 runs in 20 overs. In response, Hyderabad could not brave the CSK bowlers as it lost two wickets in the powerplay itself. Though Kane Williamson scored 57 off 39 in the middle-order, he succumbed to the pressure as other batsmen failed to assist him. With this, Chennai won the match by 20 runs and added two points in its account.
