CSK Clinches 5th Consecutive Game By Beating SRH, Jumps To 1st Place

The Chennai Super Kings have continued their winning streak in the IPL 2021 as they beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets on April 28. After winning the toss, SRH decided to bat first and put a challenging total of 171 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the 172-run target, CSK began on a ballistic path as its openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis clocked match-winning 129-run partnership. Gaikwad scored 75 runs off 44 balls while du Plessis bagged 56 on 38 deliveries. For SRH, right arm spinner Rashid Khan raised some hopes, with his spell of three wickets for 34 runs in four overs, to make a comeback in the game but the CSK having strong batting line up did not lose the grip of the game. Super Kings sealed the victory in 18.3 overs with 7 wickets in hand. With this win, CSK has jumped back to the 1st position in the points table.
