Daniel Cormier Vs Stipe Miocic - Trilogy: How Important is this Fight?

Daniel "DC" Cormier and Stipe Miocic are set to face off for the third time on August 16, at UFC 252, with the Heavyweight Championship on the line. Cormier, a two-time olympian, former; Strike force, King of the cage and Xmma Heavyweight champ, has also held UFC's Light-heavyweight and Heavyweight titles, both at the same time. Miocic on the other hand, is a former Golden Gloves boxing champ, an NCAA division I wrestler, and a real-life firefighter, who has also held the UFC Heavyweight title.

DC steps in with a record of 22-2 (Wins-Losses) and Miocic with 22-3 (Wins-Losses). Both fighters are at the final years of their fighting careers, and the upcoming bout could possibly be the last one for DC. Cormier himself has stated that he's got "one last ride to go". DC knocked out Miocic in round 1, at UFC 226. Miocic avenged his loss at UFC 241, by knocking out DC in round 4. The trilogy now makes more sense as both the fighters are coming off with a win against each other.
