Kerala Government to Provide Rs 2,000 Stipend to Paddy Field Owners
Kerala government on September 9 announced a financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 per hectare to paddy cultivators. The decision is aimed to encourage owners in continuing paddy cultivation in their lands. The state government has allocated Rs. 40 crore for this scheme from integrated paddy development funds. Agriculture Minister Sunil Kumar said that the production has risen by two lakh tonnes in the last four years after the government's intervention.
