Mercedes Fined With €20,000 For Tyre Mix-Up At Sakhir Grand Prix
The International Automobile Federation handed a €20,000 fine to Formula One team Mercedes after causing a pitstop bungle in the Sakhir Grand Prix. Reportedly, the team fitted wrong tyres to the leading George Russell's car, which were supposed to be installed at Valtteri Bottas’ vehicle. With this, the 22-year-old made another stop that dropped him to fifth-place resulting in a ninth-position finish. However, Mercedes cited communications error as the reason.
