Mike Pompeo Says US Envoy to China to Step Down

The United States secretary Mike Pompeo on September 14 announced that the US Ambassador to China, Terry Branstad, has resigned. While informing about the decision, Pompeo tweeted, "Ambassador Branstad has contributed to rebalancing U.S-China relations so that it is result-oriented, reciprocal and fair." Reportedly, the reasons behind the move were misty. Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it had not received notice of the same.
