NASA-ISRO's Satellite 'NISAR' Likely To Be Launched By Jan 2023
ISRO is likely to launch Earth observation satellite NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) by January 2023 from Sriharikota aboard GSLV Mark-II. For this, ISRO has transported the satellite components to NASA laboratory to integrate American L-band radar into it. The satellite is the first to use two radar frequencies (L-band, S-band) to examine Earthly phenomena like ecosystem disturbances, natural calamities and even state of the Earth's crust. The agencies had collaborated for NISAR in 2014.
