NGT Orders To Lay Underground Cables To Protect Great Indian Bustard
The National Green Tribunal has ordered all the renewable power projects to lay underground power transmission to protect the Great Indian Bustard. Hearing the PIL filed by Bhanu Bansal, the tribunal has asked the Environment Ministry and states to install bird diverters on power lines within four months. The tribunal has ordered the ministry to create Environmental Impact Assessments of solar projects since green energy projects were kept out of EIA.
