No Members From Minorities In Bihar Cabinet For First Time Since 1947
For the first time since independence, the Bihar Cabinet will be devoid of the members from minorities including Muslims. Until now, the state cabinet had always at least one Muslim member. However, no Muslim candidate of the NDA alliance could win the election this time. Former Minority Welfare Minister Firoz Ahmad also lost his constituency. JD(U)'s minority cell president Tanweer Akhtar said, "the Muslim community did not do justice with the JD(U)."
