Russia To Modify Sputnik V Vaccine For Omicron Variant
Russia's Gamaleya Institute, the developer of the Sputnik V vaccine, has started developing a modified version of the vaccine for the COVID-19 Omicron variant. It's planned to start the mass-scale production of the updated vaccine in 45 days. However, the institute also believes that Sputnik V and Sputnik Light are also effective against the new variant. Notably, the Omicron variant was first detected in South Africa last week.
