Study Reveals Lab Developed Lungs Damaged When Infected with SARS-CoV-2
Scientists from South-Korea and United-Kingdom developed lungs from the stem cells and infected them with SARS-CoV-2 to study its impact. It was found in both the studies that the virus damages the alveoli air-sacs containing oxygen and carbon-di-oxide, which causes pneumonia and respiratory problems leading to fatality in major cases. Initially, the cells produced protein as warning signals to neighbouring cells and showed resistance, after 60 hours they started disintegrating and dying.
