ASI To Utilise Closure Period Of Agra Monuments For Conservation

To properly utilise the lockdown period, the Archaeological Survey of India has decided to carry out a conservation drill for the historical monuments in Agra during the period. Reportedly, under the drill, monuments like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri will undergo conservation work while adhering to the COVID-19 protocols. Notably, the budget passed for the renovation and conservation of the monuments is Rs 1 crore.

Girlfriend Throws Acid On Man After His Parents Fix Marriage Elsewhere

UP’s Agra-based 28-year-old Devendra Rajput succumbed to severe burn injuries after his girlfriend Sonam threw acid on him on March 25. The woman reportedly burned his boyfriend after calling him early from work on the pretext of fixing a ceiling fan. As per reports, the couple were staying together in a rented house in Khandari area and the woman was angry as Devendra's family had arranged his marriage elsewhere.

Three Booked In Uttar Pradesh For Offering Prayers In Taj Mahal

For offering prayers in the Taj Mahal compound, three members of the Hindu Mahasabha including a woman have been booked in Uttar Pradesh. The member including the the provisional president of Hindu Mahasabha were nabbed by the Central Industrial Security Force personnel and later handed over to the state police. A case has been registered against the members, said Umesh Chandra Tripathi, the Inspector of Tajganj police station.

Delhi Police Arrests 3 For Duping Rs 34,000 From Kejriwal's Daughter

The Delhi Police on February 15 informed that three people aaccused of duping Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's daughter of Rs 34,000, were arrested from Uttar Pradesh. As per the police, the culprits - Kapil Kumar Rajouria (18), Wajid (26), and Manvinder Singh (25) were nabbed by tracing the bank accounts. Reportedly, the fake bank account belonged to Rajouria, who lent it to Wajid for commission of the fraud.

Police Detain 4 Activists For Chanting Shiv Chalisa In Taj Mahal

The Agra police have detained four people for reciting Shiv Chalisa and waving the saffron flag inside the premises of the Taj Mahal. Their act was considered a security breach as no religious activities are permitted inside the premises. PM Modi To Inaugurate Agra Metro Works On December 7

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Agra Metro construction on December 7. The double-corridor project stretching to a length of 29.4 kilometres will connect the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Sikandra with rail and bus terminus. The environment-friendly metro project will approximately cost to Rs 8379.62 crore and would be completed within five years. Reportedly, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath will join the ceremony.

UP: Govt-run Children's Home Records 3 Deaths; Report Suggests Lack Of Care

Just in a span of three days - October 24 to 26 - three infants were reported dead from a UP government's children’s home and pre-adoption centre in Agra. All the infants were aged below six months.
