The Uttar Pradesh Police on October 8 informed that a dead body of 17-year-old girl was found in Fatehpur district. The victim's family members have alleged that the girl was raped and murdered. While the initial medical reports suggest that the deceased was strangulated, police await the post-mortem report to confirm the allegations. Acting on the complaint by the family, police has arrested an accused identified as Aditya Raidas. 

A 35-year-old woman was gang-raped by a bus driver and conductor in Meerut on September 25. The accused, identified as Sunil Chaudhary and Arvind Kumar have been taken into custody. According to the police, the victim knew the bus driver and contacted him to reach her native place in Mirzapur. After reaching the bus station she was taken into a colony, where they consumed alcohol and took turns to rape the victim.

A 19-year-old teenager has been detained by the Mumbai police on September 18, for allegedly abducting and raping a 16-year-old girl, whom he had befriended on social media. According to a Sub Inspector Vahaisli Lambate, the accused was a contract worker at Thane Municipal corporation and had taken the victim to Osmanabad. The victim’s family filed a missing complaint on August 30, which led to a search operation and was rescued.

On September 13, a 27-year-old attendant was held by police for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman three times at a quarantine centre in Maharashtra's Thane. Reportedly, the crime took place in June when the woman was accompanying her COVID-19 positive relative at the centre. However, the woman said she did not file a complaint earlier as she was scared that the accused would harm her family.
