Tokyo Olympics: Sania, Ankita Loses Doubles Tennis 1st Round
Former India's No.1 Sania Mirza and debutant Ankita Raina lost the first round to Ukraine's twin sister pair Liudmyla Kichenok and Nadiia Kichenok (6-0, 6-7, 8-10). The Indian pair was leading the first set with 6-0 but the twin sisters showed no mercy and registered their win. Besides, Sumit Nagal is the only Indian Tennis player left to compete in Tokyo following the Women's Doubles team defeat.

Autralian Open: India's Stint Ends As Bopanna Loses
With veteran tennis player Rohan Boppana's defeat in the mixed doubles match held on February 13, India's stint at the Australian Open officially comes to an end. Ankita Raina Becomes 3rd Indian Woman To Qualify For Grand Slam Main
Indian tennist Ankita Raina has become the third Indian woman to feature in the main draw of a Grand Slam. She paired up with Romania's Mihaela Buzarnecu and secured a direct entry for the women’s doubles at the Australian Open. Earlier, Sania Mirza and Nirupama Vaidyanathan were the Indian women who have played in the Grand Slam main draw. Reportedly, 2021's first Grand Slam will commence from February 8.

Ankita Raina Drops Out of French Open After Losing in Second Round of Qualifiers
Indian tennis player Ankita Raina lost her match against Japan’s Kurumi Nara in the second round at the French Open qualifiers with 3-6, 2-6 which was held on September 24 at Roland Garros. Post Raina's defeat, there is no Indian left to play singles at the clay court. “The match was not bad. I had chances in my service game but she returned very well today,” Raina said.
