Digital Art Auction Mints More Than $52 Million For WikiLeaks Founder Assange
As per reports, An online auction of digital art raised more than $52 million worth of cryptocurrency to help fund WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's legal defence. The center of attraction of the auction was an NFT artwork, clock, that displays the number of days Assange has been imprisoned. Notably, Assange is battling extradition from Britain to the United States, after he allegedly leaked thousands of secret classified files in 2010.

British-Irish comedian, Jimmy Carr is condemned by anti-hate organizations, for his comments about the Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller community. The special premiered on Netflix on December 25, but the comment received wider attention after a clip circulated on social media. When people talk about the Holocaust, they talk about the loss of Jewish lives but not of gypsies, he said, because no one ever wants to talk about the positives.

Rare Franz Marc Painting Up For Sale; Estimated To Fetch $47 Million
A painting by German expressionist Franz Marc, returned last year from a museum to the descendants of a Jewish collector who fled the Nazis, will be auctioned. The rare painting features 'The Foxes (Die Füchse)', featuring two brightly colored, intertwined foxes. "It'll be an amazing moment for the art world because Franz Marc's important pictures are incredibly rare," told Jussi Pylkkänen to Reuters.

Cambodian Lion Dancers Continue Craft Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
Amid the pandemic, Cambodian lion dancers are all set to perform at Lunar New Year Ceremony. All the income sources have dried up during the pandemic, with the number of performances bottoming out to about once a month instead of five, said a performer. The Cambodian Chinese Association estimates there are eight troupes, but the number may shrink. Notably, Sino-Khmers have long been an integral part of the Cambodian society.
