Renault Launches New Variant Of Kiger On Account Of 10th Anniversary

Renault India celebrated its tenth anniversary of operations in India with the launch of new RXT (O) variant of the newly launched Renault Kiger. The car is powered by a 1.0L engine and is available in both manual and automatic variants. The new variant has borrowed some premium features from the RXZ variant, such as the Tri-octa LED Pure Vision Headlamps and 40.64 cm Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels.

Asia's Longest High-Speed Track Opened In Indore's Pithampur

Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javdekar virtually inaugurated the Asia's longest and world's fifth longest high-speed track in Indore's Pithampur. The NATRAX facility is 11.3 kms long and 16 ms wide, with four independent lanes for automotive and components testing. With the new high-speed track, vehicles can now be tested in India, without having to be sent overseas for the same.

Royal Enfield Extends Aid Of Rs 2 Cr To Tamil Nadu Disaster Fund

Two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield has announced a financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to the Tamil Nadu Disaster Relief Fund to fight against COVID-19 pandemic. Meeting Chief Minister MK Stalin, Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari presented a cheque of Rs 2 crore and stated, "Tamil Nadu is the home of Royal Enfield motorcycles." Notably, the two-wheeler company has three manufacturing units in Chennai.

Volvo Cars Records 43% Growth In Global Sales In May

Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo Cars has registered a 43% year-on-year growth in its global sales in May 2021. The company has sold 64,111 cars worldwide in May 2021. The majority of the sales were recorded in the United States and Europe with a strong demand for the models like XC90 and XC60. Meanwhile, in China, Volvo has continued its 14-month sales growth streak by selling 16,895 units.

Available in five colours, the limited edition will offer two different seating options - five or seven seats - with a 2.8-litre diesel and 2.7-litre petrol engine. Additionally, the mechanically unchanged, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 70th Anniversary Edition, will also sport floor mats featuring the special edition logo.

Hero Suffers 50% Decline In Sales Due To COVID-19 Lockdown

Two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has suffered a 50.83% decline in its month-on-month sales in May 2021 due to COVID-19. The company has reportedly sold 1,83,044 vehicles in May 2021 as compared to the sales of 3,72,285 units in April. The company said that the sales have declined primarily due to regional lockdowns, causing temporary closure of manufacturing plants in different regions.

Thar SUV Launch Delayed In Australia Due To Jeep's Design Copy Claims

Automobile manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra has entered into a legal battle with Jeep brand owner Fiat Chrysler, causing the delay in the launch of Thar SUV in Australia. Reportedly, Jeep has claimed that the design of the Thar SUV is an infringement of its SUV Wrangler, which now is off-road.
