Prime suspect in the Sheena Bora murder case Indrani Mukherjea has been granted bail by Supreme Court, on May 18. Reportedly, the bail was granted on a sole ground that Indrani has spent six and a half years in jail. Upon granting bail, the apex court asked her satisfy the conditions of the trial court. Indrani was arrested in 2015, for the alleged murder of her own daughter. 

The "Hanuman Chalisa" Row MLA couple Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana has been granted bail, on May 4. The Mumbai Court granted them bail on certain conditions that include that the couple will not address the media in the matter and will be available for investigation 24X7. Notably, the couple has been arrested on April 23, for chanting religious-hymn to disturb the law & maintenance and were in judicial custody.

A three-judge bench of the apex court led by the CJI, on April 11, expressed dissatisfaction over celebratory 'Bhaiya is back' posters and hoardings over the bail of a rape-accused student leader. Acting on the MP-based accuser's petition against his bail, the court issued the accused a notice, pressing him on why his bail should not be canceled. The SC also sought response from the MP government regarding the same.

Akash Suyal, who was arrested in the Clubhouse chat case, has been granted bail by a Metropolitan Magistrate, on March 31. Suyal is a Class XII student from Haryana, who was arrested by the Mumbai Police Cyber Cell for making derogatory and offensive comments about women. Earlier, two co-accused were granted bail. Suyal being the youngest, is the last one to be granted bail. 

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, granted bail to former Urban Development Minister Azam Khan in connection with the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam recruitment scam, on March 11. Notably, Khan is currently in Sitapur Jail and was booked for committing irregularity in the appointments of 1342 recruiters during Akhilesh Yadav's regime. Furthermore, in 2017, the BJP Government came into power, they ordered SIT probe in the case.
